The new VOLVÉR embraces off-the-grid fashion for forward-thinking shoppers.

Don’t let VOLVÉR'S suburban address fool you. This new boutique excels in the avant-garde. Its mix of 25 lesser-known labels from Asia and Europe might seem better suited for London or New York, but founder Dani Arellano understands her industry well. The local lived in Singapore for a few years and then interned at The Webster’s e-commerce and buying departments before launching her own e-tailer for men and women in 2015, so she knows there’s an audience for her edgier inventory. “South Miami is known among locals as a [thriving] shopping district made up of different establishments, some of which have been there for up to 60 years,” she says. “I wanted to be part of that and bring something new to the area.” At her brick-and-mortar debut, the focus is on women’s ready-to-wear and accessories. Offerings from Seoul’s NOHKE and Japan’s Pas de Calais define Arellano’s eye for casual modernity. “My ideal customer is someone who’s confident to try something that’s new or out of the norm,” she adds. “I’m a big fan of romanticism as well as edgy and raw attitudes, and that’s why I offer a range that allows people to dress themselves for different occasions.”
